Controversies
During the Canberra Knights 4-1 loss to the Sydney Bears on 19th April, Brown was given a 2 minute minor penalty for roughing at the end of the first period. With just 32 seconds before the end of the second, according to the official box score, Brown was then awarded a 25 minute match penalty.
As reported by the AIHL in their statement, Brown was judged to have breached three clauses of the AIHL Code of Conduct. The infringements included General Behaviour, Public Conduct and Public Comment.
Pleading guilty to all charges, Brown has received a 3 game suspension as well as 6 game suspended sentence. This also comes with an automatic 2 game suspension stemming from an undisclosed discretion from the same game.
This will mean that Brown will be missing from the Knights’ lineup until they take on the North Stars in Newcastle on the 30th of June 2012.
