Michael Alexander, more commonly known as Mike Alexander (born 16 October 1973 in Columbus, Ohio, United States) is a professional boxer who fights in the cruiserweight division.
Professional career
Alexander turned professional in August 2003 at the age of 30, at the Promo West Pavilion, Columbus, Ohio. In his debut Alexander defeated Darnell Dawson by way of a first round knockout. After eleven consecutive wins, Alexander lost a ten round decision at the heavyweight limit to Chazz Witherspoon of Philadelphia. Returning to Cruiserweight, Alexander lost an eight round decision to Alexander Frenkel in Germany. After sixteen months out of the ring, Alexander became well known by appearing as a competitor in The Contender 4 of The Contender (TV series), hosted by Tony Danza. In January 2009, Alexander lost his opening match by five round decision to Rico Hoye in Singapore and was eliminated from the show. In November 2009, Alexander attempted a comeback, but was stopped in the second round by Florida Cruiserweight Nicholas Ianuzzi.
