Miguel Albuquerque is the former Mayor (Presidente da Câmara in Portuguese) of Funchal, Madeira. Miguel is a keen gardener, growing many types of roses in his own garden. [1] In April 2012 Miguel opened a road in St Helier, Jersey, which was named RUE DE FUNCHAL, after Funchal the city he was Mayor of.[2]
