Mickey Storey (born March 16, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball.

Career

Storey attended Deerfield Beach High School in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and Florida Atlantic University. The Oakland Athletics drafted Storey in the 31st round of the 2008 MLB Draft. The Athletics traded Storey to the Houston Astros in June 2011.

Storey was called up to the majors for the first time on August 3, 2012.[1] On September 12, Storey was hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of the Chicago Cubs Dave Sappelt.[2]

He was claimed off waivers by the New York Yankees on November 20, 2012, and then designated for assignment on November 30. He was claimed by the Houston Astros on December 6, and then designated for assignment on December 17 when free agent Carlos Pena was signed.

On December 19, 2012, Storey was claimed by the Toronto Blue Jays.[3][4] On December 21, the Blue Jays announced that Storey had been assigned outright to their Triple-A affiliate Buffalo Bisons.[5] He was brought up to the Blue Jays on May 9,[6] and optioned back to the Bisons on May 20 when Anthony Gose was recalled.[7] Storey was recalled by the Blue Jays on June 1,[8] and optioned back to Buffalo on June 4.[9] Storey was recalled on August 10 when Juan Pérez was placed on the disabled list.[10] He was sent back to Buffalo on August 16.[11]
