Michael Duut (born 22 January 1990) is a Dutch light heavyweight kickboxer fighting out of Netherlands. He is known for his aggressive fighting style and a desire to finish each fight in first round.

Biography

His kickboxing career started when he was 10 years old. While returning home from school he was bullied by an older, bigger and stronger boy who fought him and sent home in tears. His father made him to go back and fight him again, what Michael did. He stood n front of him, closed his eyes and knockt the guy out with one punch. Since then his father took him to kickboxing clases every day. From his early teens since now, he has been fighting out from Mejiro Gym.[1]

Career

In early 2013 he was invited to fight in Glory promotion at Glory 5: London to face Dustin Jacoby, who won Road to Glory USA tournament, beating three opponents in one night. Duut achieved first round TKO victory, scoring three knockdowns.[2] Later at Glory 7: Milan he defeated Australian Steve McKinnon by unanimous decision.[3]

He participated in Glory 9: New York - 2013 95kg Slam losing in quarter finals to an eventual champion Tyrone Spong. Duut almosed shocked whole kickboxing world scoring a first round knockdown, dropping his immediately with a right cross, but experienced Spong countered Duut and took first round KO.[4] Following that, he fought at Glory 11: Chicago where he also lost to a Glory's top contender Danyo Ilunga.[5]

Duut is expecting to wash away the taste of defeat on March 8, 2014 in Zagreb, Croatia against domestic Igor Jurković at Glory 14: Zagreb event.[6]
