Michael Claassens (born 28 October 1982 in Kroonstad, Free State) is a South African rugby union player for Toulon in the French Top 14. He has made his name as one of the best scrum halves in the English league.

Claassens previously played for the Free State Cheetahs,the Springboks and Bath Rugby in the Aviva Premiership, where he plays as a scrum-half.

Errie Claassens, brother of Michael, currently plays at Fullback or Winger in the RFU Championship for Bristol Rugby.
