Michèle Laroque (born 15 June 1960) is a French actress, comedian and humorist, who has appeared in almost 60 film and television productions since 1988.
She was born in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France. She was nominated for the César Awards for Best Supporting Actress in La crise (1992) and Pédale douce (1996).
Michèle is 1.71 m tall, she began her career in 1987 at the age of 27.[1][2] She is a daughter of Romanian dancer Doina Trandabur,[3] who defected to Great Britain in 1958.[4] Her father is Claude Laroque, who met Doina a year earlier during a tour.[5] This made Michèle the niece of Pierre Laroque, the creator of Social Security in France. She survived a long coma after a car accident at the age of 18, and then made the decision of becoming an actress.
Michèle was married to theater director Dominique Deschamps for a brief period (daughter Oriane). She's a gay rights activist.[6]
