Mertensophryne taitana is a species of toad in the Bufonidae family. It is found in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, arable land, plantations, rural gardens, and canals and ditches.
