Melbourne Vicentre
Melbourne Vicentre is a swimming club based at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Melbourne, Australia. Its head coach is Ian Pope, who is also supported by Craig Jackson, Alex Hirschauer and Matt King . Vicentre is one of the largest clubs in Victoria, and competes in state and national swimming events regularly. Some of its top swimmers who train currently with Vicentre are Giaan Rooney (now retired), Matt Welsh, Grant Hackett Marieke Guehrer & Patrick Murphy.
The club was formed in 1988 following the amalgamation of Melbourne Aquatic and ACI Vicentre swimming clubs. In 1996, the club amalgamated with Malvern Swimming Club Inc. The club is an incorporated association under the Associations Incorporation Act 1986 (Vic) and is an affiliate of Swimming Victoria and Metro South District.
Melbourne Vicentre has won the Australian Open Longcourse Championships points score every year since 2004 Athens Olympic trials to 2007.
