Melvin Breeden,[1] better known as Mel-Man (unknown birth date), is a producer from Norfolk, Va. He is the President/CEO of Big Cat Records, which Billboard named a Top 10 record label in the United States.

1990s

Mel-Man released Freaknasty "Da Dip" in 1996 independently and sold over 1.5 million copies. He would get nominated for a MTV VMA award in 1997. The album sold approx 400,000 copies while still releasing and marketing indi projects such as Ghetto Mafia, Spice 1 & MC Breed.

Big Cat

Big Cat Records has cranked out projects such as Maceo’s Straight Out Da Pot, Rasheeda’s Georgia Peach, Khia’s Nasty Muzik, Gucci Mane’s Trap House, Hard To Kill, Trap-A-Thon and most recently Hood Classics.

Big Cat Records caught the attention of the Dipset franchise and subsequently joined forces with Diplomat Records president Freekey Zekey to release his sophomore album entitled Loyalty Is Everything.
