Meir Rosenne

Meir Rosenne (Hebrew: מאיר רוזן; born 19 February 1931 in Jassy, Romania) is an Israeli lawyer and former diplomat.

He immigrated to Palestine in 1944. During the 1950s studied law at the Sorbonne and got his Ph.D. in 1957. In 1971-1979 served as legal adviser to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and took part in the negotiations for the Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty. In 1979-1983 served as Ambassador to France. In 1983-1987 served as Ambassador to the United States. In 1987 retired from the diplomatic service. In 1989-1994 served as President of the Israel Bonds Organization.

Currently, he is a senior partner at the Balter, Guth, Aloni Law firm in Israel and is active with various Zionist organizations. He is known for supporting Israeli policies regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in his writings and activities worldwide.
