Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed is a Pakistani politician and a member of Punjab Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from Lahore (PP-151), he is also the parliamentary leader of PTI in Punjab and also the Leader of the Opposition of Punjab.[1][2][3][4]

Politics

Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has been elected as the member of Punjab Assembly for the three time; he had served as MPA in 1988 and 1990 terms. Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, who also served as PTI President Lahore for five years when it held its first successful public gathering on October 30, 2011 has been associated with party for more than a decade. He started his career from Jamaat-e-Islami and after serving as councillor for Lahore Development Authority for two consecutive terms in 1983 and 1987, he was the candidate of Islami Jamhoori Ittehad in 1988 elections from the then PP-127 (now PP-151) where he defeated his opponents. Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was once again as the IJI candidate in 1990 elections won from the same constituency, Mian Mehmood lost the 1993 election to, he didn't contest the 1997 polls. After 2000, he changed his political course and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.[5][6][7]
