Medynsky District (Russian: Медынский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kaluga Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,148 square kilometers (443 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Medyn.[citation needed] Population: 13,347 (2010 Census);[3] 13,783 (2002 Census);[6] 14,655 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Medyn accounts for 62.2% of the district's total population.[3]
