Medicine Hat College is a public, board governed, comprehensive community college serving southeastern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. The college is located in the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and was founded in 1965. Almost 2,5000 students attend the main campus; another 200 attend Brooks Campus, located 100 km west of Medicine Hat in Brooks.

MHC is a member of the Alberta Rural Development Network.

Programs

More than 30 diplomas and certificates are offered along with 25 university transfer programs. There are also several opportunities for degree completion at MHC including nursing, applied arts, and social work. A partnership with the University of Calgary makes it possible for nursing students to complete a full bachelor’s degree at the college, and graduates from diploma programs such as Police and Security may also complete degrees. The college offers unique diploma programs such as Addictions Counselor, Technical Illustrator, Paramedic, and Deaf and Blind Support Specialist. New applied degrees are also offered in Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership and Visual Communications.

Library

Two libraries serve the college: at the main campus, the Vera Bracken Library at the main campus located in the Library/Classroom wing built in 2003, and the Brooks Campus Library .[1] The libraries have 100,000 print and non-print resources, 17,000 e-books, and over 20,000 online periodicals, and an annual gate figure attendance of over 400,000. The college is a member of The Alberta Library, the Southern Alberta Information Network, the Canadian Library Association, Library Association of Alberta, and is a partner with the University of Lethbridge Library, sharing the integrated library system.

Athletics

The college's Rattlers compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. Team sports include: basketball, volleyball, soccer, and golf.
