Medal of Merit

Several countries award a military or civil medal called Medal of Merit:

  • Medal of Merit of the Dominican Woman, a decoration awarded by the Dominican government to women that projected in their social occupation. It was established by decree on 29 May 1985 to be conferred on 8 March of each year, the International Women's Day
  • Medal of Merit (Czech Republic), an award of the Czech Republic which comes in three grades, the First Grade being the highest
  • Medal of Merit (Denmark), the oldest extant award medal presented by the Kingdom of Denmark. Established by Christian VII on 16 May 1792, and re-instituted by ordinance of Christian VIII on 24 July 1845, it is a personal award of the Sovereign.
  • Medal of Merit of the National People's Army (East Germany)
  • Medal of Merit (Korea)
  • Medal of Merit (Malta), a Maltese medal established by the Confederation of (Maltese) Civic Councils, and handed out in the years 1968-1971
  • Medal of Merit (East Timor), a state decoration of East Timor. Established in 2009, it may be awarded to East Timorese and foreign civilian and military personnel
