Mechnice [mɛxˈnit͡sɛ] (German Muchenitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Dąbrowa, within Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Dąbrowa and 5 km (3 mi) west of the regional capital Opole.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II).
The village has a population of 980.
