Mechinagar

Mechinagar (Nepali: मेचीनगर) is a municipality in Jhapa District, Mechi Zone, Nepal and is the main entry point from India on Nepal's eastern border. Nepal's custom office is in Kankarbhitta (Nepali: काँकडभिट्टा), a section of the municipality.

Mechinagar municipality was created by combining Dhulabari (Nepali: धुलाबारी) and Kankarbhitta townships.

Radio: Mechinagar has one FM radio station Radio Sargam - 88.8 MHz which is a community radio station.

In the 1991 census it had 37.108 inhabitants, in 2001 (census) 40.060. The estimate for 2005 is 56.173.
