Mecha Ortiz

Mecha Ortiz (née María Mercedes Varela Nimo Domínguez Castro; 24 September 1900 – 20 October 1987) was a classic Argentine actress who appeared in film between 1937 and 1981. Beginning with 1954's El Abuelo (1954 film). Her last appearance on film was in 1981.

Family

Her husband, Julián Ortiz, was a farner in Argentina. Their son, Julián, became a translator and playwright. Her brother, José, was a theatre director, and a sister, Amanda, was also an actress.

Death

She died in 1987 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, aged 87.
