It was the home of the State Fair of Virginia since 2009, when it moved from Richmond International Raceway. The 2009 state fair was the park's inaugural event.[1] Since then, it has hosted several other events. Meadow Stables, now part of the park, was birthplace of famous racehorse Secretariat. In May 2012, the State Fair of Virginia, and the respective park, was sold to Memphis-based Universal Fairs, which will keep the event.
