McBusted are a musical supergroup[1] comprising members of English pop rock bands McFly and Busted.[2]
History
From 19 to 22 September 2013, Matt Willis and James Bourne made a surprise brief reunion as Busted when they joined McFly as special guests during the band's four 10th anniversary concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, performing "Year 3000", "Air Hostess" and McFly's "Shine a Light" with McFly, under the name McBusted.[3] On 11 November 2013, it was announced that McBusted world tour in 2014, and will play songs from both Busted and McFly.[2] Originally set as 11 tour dates, due to popular demand the tour has increased to 34 dates throughout April–June 2014. The tour comprises dates in Glasgow, Liverpool, Bournemouth, London, Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds, Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Manchester and Brighton.[4] The only member of the original groups not participating in the new lineup is former Busted singer Charlie Simpson.[5]
McBusted's first official TV performance was Children in Need 2013, where they played a mix of four songs: "All About You", "Year 3000", "Air Hostess" and "Shine a Light". A McBusted version of McFly's song "Love Is on the Radio" was released 24 November 2013. Harry Judd described the McBusted tour as the biggest tour Busted and McFly have ever done.[6]
On 9 December 2013, McBusted announced that they would be headlining British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival with Backstreet Boys, Scouting for Girls and Diversity as special guests on 6 July.[7]
