Max Amini born in Tucson, Arizona is an Iranian-American comedian. He graduated from UCLA Acting Program in 2004.[1] He speaks fluent Persian and conversational Arabic.[2] Max Amini was born in Tucson Arizona, to Iranian parents who immigrated to Arizona, USA after the revolution . He was raised on the West Coast and graduated from UCLA's school of Theater, Film and Television in 2004. As an actor, Max has numerous film and television credits including NBC's Heroes, regular appearances on Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia, and a leading role in the upcoming film Beer Pong.
Early life and education
Max began his stand-up comedy career in 2002 at the LA Improv. The show was his final class in a comedy workshop, and despite being the self-described "worst kid in class" by the end of his performance the audience was in awe of his act. Since then he hasn't stopped. For nine years Max has performed the world over, expressing his views on family and cultural topics through his spectacular theatrics and energetic humor. He was chosen as one of the finalists for NBC's Diversity Showcase in 2009, and he developed a stand-up comedy tour, named "Exotic Imports" featuring second-generation Americans coming from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Max performs nightly at comedy clubs in Los Angeles, and you can also catch him in a stand up special currently airing on Showtime.
Stand-up comedy
Primarily a stand-up comedian, Max regularly performs at Comedy Store and Laugh Factory in Los Angeles when not performing shows around the world. He started a stand-up comedy show, named "Exotic Imports", featuring second-generation Americans coming from diverse cultural backgrounds.[3] He was recently chosen as one of the finalists for NBC's Diversity Showcase, and finished taping his first special on Showtime on December 12, 2009.[4] In 2012 he was chosen for the CBS Diversity Comedy Showcase, a known career launching point for many of the shows alum. Max currently tours throughout the world doing Comedy shows, recently performing in Canada, the UK, Emirates, Germany,Australia and throughout the United States.

In 2013, one of Max's jokes in Farsi raised objections within the Iranian Azerbaijani community. The joke comes from a video originally uploaded in 2011 on Max's YouTube Channel and went 2 years without controversy. In 2013, political differences between Iran and a political minority in Azerbaijan led to campaigns on social media advocating for secession. In the midst of these events Max's video was shared on Facebook as a part of their political agenda. The newly propagandized video garnered response within the Azeri community as racist. In effort to clarify to his fans, Max responded via YouTube [5] to express his support and love for the Azerbaijani community and that he is himself of Azerbaijani descent (his mother being Turk) and his joke was not meant to degrade the Azerbaijani community. Soon after his response, this controversy was short-lived.

He’s an actor with numerous film and TV credits including NBC’s Heroes, Comedy Central's Mind of Mencia, and his leading role in the upcoming movie How Beer Pong Saved my Life, released in 2010.[4][6]
