Matiari District (Sindhi:ضِلعو مٽیاري), is located in Sindh, Pakistan. The city of Matiari is the capital.
Subdivisions
The district is administratively subdivided into three talukhas:[1]
History
The district was created in 2005 out of Hyderabad District.[2] Muhammad Usman Chachar was the first District Coordination Officer (D.C.O), serving for three years. Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Jamot was the first "Nazim" (Mayor) of the district.
