Mastala

Mastala (Urdu:مستاله) is a village in Gujar Khan Tehsil, Rawalpindi District in the Punjab of Pakistan. Mastala is part of Mohra Noori Union Council.

Tribes

Majority tribe of Mastalais is Rajput Phakral, and almost 99% people of the place are belong to Pakhral Rajputs.

Natural resources

Mastala is full rich of natural resources like oil and gas commonly known as Adhi oil field. Adhi oil field considered among the top 10 oil and gas fields in Pakistan.

Agriculture

Mastala's irrigation mostly depends on rain because there is no river flowing near by this area and agriculture is dependent on rains. For storing water, 3 small pounds and one big pound have been constructed by the people of Mastala using their own resources.

Major crops

Major crops cultivated include wheat, maize, peanut, gram, millet, mustard.

Literacy rate

Mastala has a high literacy rate, and many persons have completed high school examinations by passing matriculation examination. The new generation is keen to get higher education, and for pursuing their studies they live in bigger city like Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. Even some students of this place have gone abroad (for example, London) for getting higher education.

Profession of people

Farming and rearing of livestock have traditionally remained the major profession of the local people. However, nowadays, people are also moving to other professional like teaching (particularly, females), business medical profession, armed forces, police force, etc.

Sports

Raja Subedar Mohammad Sharif is one of the most notable sportsman of the Mastala, he has represented Pakistan as a boxer in national and international sports events and won several titles for Pakistan.

Cricket, football and volleyball are commonly played games of the place.

Public transport

Minibus and suzuki pickups are use as public transport and Auto Rickshaw are also used by the people.
