Marur is a village of Anantapur district, in Raptadu mandal. The village is famous for Sri Chinna Kadirayya Swamy temple.

People

The total population of the village is 3567. It is composed of all the castes. The main castes are Kamma, Reddy, Kuruba, Boya and Madiga. The village is totally an agriculture dependent one. There are some distinguished people in all fields.

The village is especially famous for this temple. Saturday is the main auspicious one for people who visit this temple. The greatness of this one is that s.c people are the priests here.

Transport

The village is situated on NH7. It is 25 km from Anantapur (district headquarters). All the buses on the way to Bangalore pass through the village.
