His musical collaborations include performing with Home Groan, HGH, and Cream of the Crop. He has also embarked on his own solo project, known as Groan Alone.[1]

Career

At the 2003 Øyafestivalen Hagfors was honored by a number of his fellow musicians and joined them to form the band Cream Of The Crop, playing a critically acclaimed concert of his songs. The band consisted of musicians from Home Groan, Jaga Jazzist, Motorpsycho, Hellbillies, Midnight Choir and Askil Holm Band. They have since played at Månefestivalen, Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Varanger festivalen and Nordland Musikkfestuke.[2]

As the sole lyricist on The National Bank's first album by the same name, together with brothers Lars and Martin Horntveth who composed the music for the album, he received a Spellemannprisen in 2004, and the Edvard Prize for the song "Tolerate" in 2005. Hagfors has also written songs for artists such as Askil Holm, Elisabeth Andreassen, Helldorado and The Respatexans.[3]

In 2009 he released his first solo album Men and Flies, produced by Lars Horntveth.[1] His second album I Like You (2011) was critically acclaimed.[4] Hagfors played again at the Kongsberg Jazzfestival in July 2012.[5]
