Martendale, California

Martendale is a former settlement in Kern County, California.[1] It was located just south of Cawelo.[1]

Martendale was founded by Harry J. Marten in 1909, as a colony for Mennonites and Adventists.[1] Soon thereafter, over 100 families had settled there.[1]

A post office operated at Martendale from 1909 to 1910.[1]
