Maros Regency is a regency of South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. Almost all of the Regency lies within the official metropolitan area of the city of Makassar. The principal town lies at Maros.

Twelve of the fourteen districts tabulated above lie within the official metropolitan area of the city of Makassar; the remaining two districts (Camba and Mallawa) lie outside that area.
The longest cave
The longest cave in Indonesia is Salukangkallang cave with 27-kilometer length. The cave location is Samangki Village Tourist Area (Kawasan Desa Wisata Samangki), but the entrance to the cave location sits in Labuaja village, which is a neighbour of Samangki village. Maros Regency is famous for its karst hill and cliff, which has a name of "The Spectacular Tower Karst".[2]
