Mark C. Alexander

Mark C. Alexander is a Law Professor at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Alexander was a Senior Advisor to first United States Senator, then President Barack Obama, beginning in January 2007. Early on, he served as Policy Director, building Obama's network of policy experts and providing overall strategic guidance. Alexander served as New Jersey State Director[1] in the primaries, running all operations in his home state. After the election he served on the Presidential Transition Team. Alexander was General Counsel to Cory Booker in the 2006 Newark Municipal elections and then for Booker's transition team. He served as Issues Director for the Bill Bradley for President Campaign in 1999-2000. He also worked for U.S. Senators Edward Kennedy and Howard Metzenbaum. In 2013, he unsuccessfully challenged Nia Gill in New Jersey's 34th Legislative District. [2] [3][4]

Alexander is the son of former U.S. Army Secretary Clifford Alexander and brother of Poet Elizabeth Alexander. He is a resident of Montclair, NJ.
