Marica Hase

Marica Hase (長谷真理香, Hase Marika), also known as Marika (まりか, 茉莉香, Marika),is a Japanese gravure model, actress, AV idol and pornographic actress.

Life and career

Born on October 29, in Tokyo, Japan, Marica debuted as a gravure model in 2007. After releasing several DVDs, her nude photobook was published in 2008.

In September 2009, She won sponsored Award "Tinkle"（てぃんくる賞） at "1st SOD star Cinderella audition."^[3] and made her AV Debut in December 2009, Actual Gravure Idol x AV Debut for the SOD create Studio.

After several DVDs released, she left SOD and moved to EROTICA studio. Now she has released about two hundred works（including omnibus and a re-edited version）from various studios.^[4]

Transition from Japan to Overseas

On 31 March 2012, she announced that she will be working as a pornographic actress overseas.^[5]
Now there are many AV idols active as non-pornographic actress in Japan and some of them also in overseas. But it is very rare for Japanese AV actress to work as pornographic actress outside of Japan, because of the language barrier or the difference in agency. So she is almost the first Japanese pornographic actress working other than Japan.
In January 2013, she was chosen as the Penthouse Pet of the Month.^[6]

Changes of name

She debuted as the gravure model with the name 長谷真理香（Marika Hase）and was renamed まりか（Marika）when she made her AV debut.

Being loved by her fans, along with the name Marika, she felt a strong attachment to the name まりか（Marika or Marica）and wanted to continue using it in overseas. But it is difficult to distinguish her, due to the shortness and unfamiliarity of her first name and she decided to reuse her last name（Hase）.^[7]

Now she is working as Marica Hase in overseas and has continued using Marika in Japan. Nevertheless her name is often labeled incorrectly, Marica Haze,^[8] Mirika, Marika Maze^[9] and she has lamented about it on her blog.^[10]
