Mariano Escobedo, Veracruz

Mariano Escobedo is a Municipality in Veracruz, Mexico. It is located in central zone of the State of Veracruz, about 127 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 103.64 km2. It is located at 18°55′N 97°08′W / 18.917°N 97.133°W / 18.917; -97.133.


The municipality of Mariano Escobedo is delimited to the north by Puebla State, to the east by Atzacan and Ixtaczoquitlán, to the south by Orizaba, Maltrata and Ixhuatlancillo and to the west by Puebla State.[1]


It produces principally maize, beans, potatoes, sugarcane and coffee.

In Mariano Escobedo , in march takes place the celebration in honor to Saint Joseph, chief of the town.


The weather in Mariano Escobedo is very cold all year with rains in summer and autumn.
