Maria Ivanovna Monko (Russian: Мария Ивановна Монько, born 26 November 1990) is a Russian ice dancer. With former partner Ilia Tkachenko, she is the 2007 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final champion.

Career

Early in her career, Monko competed with Alexander Bortsov on the national level.

From 2006 through 2008, she competed with Ilia Tkachenko. They teamed up in 2006 and were the 2007 Russian Junior national silver medalists. They placed 5th at the 2007 World Junior Championships. They won the 2007 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final.

For the 2008–2009 season, they were assigned to Skate America and Trophée Eric Bompard and prepared new programs,[1] however, they did not compete in either event. Their partnership dissolved in 2008.[2]

Personal life

Monko's younger sister is Ksenia Monko, also an ice dancer.
