The Margate City Schools are a community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Margate City, in Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States. Students from Longport Borough, a non-operating school district, jointly attend the district's schools.[3][4]

As of the 2010-11 school year, the district's three schools had an enrollment of 641 students and 48.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.16.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[5]

For grades 9 - 12, public school students from Margate and Longport attend Atlantic City High School in Atlantic City, which also serves students from Brigantine and Ventnor City who attend the school as part of sending/receiving relationships.[6]
