Margaret Rose Henry[1] (born June 20, 1944 in Rayne, Louisiana) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware Senate since 1994 representing District 2.[2]
Education
Henry earned her BA from Texas Southern University and her MA from Springfield College.
Elections
- 2012 Henry was unopposed for both the September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 15,197 votes.[3]
- 1994 When Democratic Senator Herman Holloway, Sr. resigned, Henry, running as a Republican, won the three-way April 16, 1994 Special election with 1,487 votes (54%) against Democratic nominee Herman Holloway, Jr. and Samuel Guy;[4] Henry won the Republican Primary with 341 votes (91%),[5] and won November 8, 1994 General election with 3,641 votes (58%) against Holloway.[4]
- 1998 Henry, having switched parties, was unopposed for both the September 12, 1998 Democratic Primary and the November 3, 1998 General election, winning with 4,626 votes.[6]
- 2002 Henry won the September 10, 2002 Democratic Primary with 1,908 votes (71.7%) against Guy, and was unopposed for the November 5, 2002 General election, winning with 5,908 votes.[7]
- 2004 Henry was unopposed for both the September 11, 2004 Democratic Primary and the November 2, 2004 General election, winning with 10,398 votes.[8]
- 2008 Henry was unopposed for both the September 9, 2008 Democratic Primary and the November 4, 2008 General election, winning with 11,872 votes.[9]
