Marco Antonio Solís (born December 29, 1959 Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico) is a Mexican musician, composer, and record producer.[1][2]

Early life and career

Marco Antonio Solís began performing at age 6 as part of Los Hermanitos Solís, with cousin, Joel Solís. In the mid-1970s he formed "Los Bukis" with whom he achieved success in Mexico, Central and South America, and the United States. As lead singer and chief song-writer of Los Bukis, Solís became known in the industry for outside writing and producing for popular singers such as Marisela and Rocío Dúrcal. In 1995, after almost 20 years of working with the group, he decided to pursue a solo career.

As a solo artist he has remained popular in his native Mexico[3] as well throughout Latin America and Spain, and the United States[4][5] with more than thirty entries on Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart, including multiple number one hits. He has worked with Olga Tañón, Ana Bárbara, and most recently Enrique Iglesias and Anaís, among others. On August 5, 2010, Solís received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Marco Antonio Solís appeared as a vocal coach in the third season of La Voz... México and won the competition. He is currently on his Gracias Por Estar Aqui 2013 world tour. His album, “Gracias Por Estar Aquí”, was released October 22, 2013 and debuted at #1 in Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.[6]

Personal life

Solís was married to Beatriz Adriana, a Mexican singer, with whom he had a daughter and a son. His daughter is Beatriz Adriana who performs under the name B.A. Solís. His son is Marco Antonio Solís Jr. The couple later divorced. He is currently married to Cristian Salas. Whom he met when he was with Los Bukis. He has two daughters with his current wife, Alison and Marla. He became a grandfather when his daughter Beatriz gave birth to her son Leonardo. Little is known about his son Marco Antonio Solís Jr. His son made headlines when he got married. He also dated Marisela in the 80s before meeting Cristian. [7][8][9][10]
