Hull and engine

Marchen Maersk is a fully cellular container ship with a capacity of 7,668 TEU.[1] It was completed in May 2008 by the Odense Steel Shipyard, in yard 212.[1] It has an overall length of 367 meters.[1]

It is powered by a Wärtsilä 12RT-Flex96c, 2-stroke slow speed diesel engine.[1] This engine is capable of propelling the Marchen Maersk at a top speed of 25 knots.[1]

System failures

On April 8, this ship was said to have steering problems as it came into port due to a starboard transporter failure.[6]

Recent activity

Recently, the Marchen Maersk was seen to port in the Port of Felixstowe along with many other ships.[7]
