Manuel Seal, Jr. (born September 26, 1960), is an American musician, record producer, composer, singer, songwriter, vocal coach, and arranger.[1] His credits include artists as Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Usher, TLC, Aretha Franklin, Xscape, Cherish, Tyrese, Alicia Keys, Ashanti, Monica, Lionel Richie, Avant, Gladys Knight, Aaron Hall, George Benson, Mary J Blige, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, El DeBarge, Shanice, Johnny Gill, LSG, Tamia, Gerald Levert, Marc Dorsey and Destiny's Child. He has won one Grammy Award from 13 nominations. Manuel Seal is the owner and CEO of Seal Music Productions. Inc. and S.L.A.C.K.A.D. Music.

Early life and career

Manuel Seal got his start as a music producer for the well known So So Def Recordings after moving to Atlanta in 1992 from Chicago. He has contributed to several artists' careers, including;

Mariah Carey's albums, most notably on her 2005 The Emancipation Of Mimi with the platinum hit "We Belong Together". The song stayed at number one for 14 non-consecutive weeks, becoming the second longest running #1 song in US chart history.

Usher writing and producing several songs from his albums My Way, 8701 and Confessions.

TLC writing and producing for the platinum-selling album CrazySexyCool.

Xscape writing and producing for the platinum-selling album Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha.

Seal has an accumulative 240 million record sales worldwide.
