Manuel Concha, born 1980 in Malmö, is a Swedish film director of Chilean descent.[1]

After some 30 short films of which The decision and Moments was shown on Gothenburg Film Festival in 2003 Concha debuted in 2008 with the feature film Mañana who premiered at the Stockholm Film Festival.[2] Manuel Concha dropped out from The University of Film directing in Gothenburgh. His feature film Mañana was selected for the festival A- filmfestival at Cairo International Film Festival. The film was also shown in Cleveland International Film Festival, Bogota International Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Bermuda International Filmfestival and was cited in newspapers including The Plain Dealer and Variety. Mañana was sold to different TV-networks and the DVD was released in 2009.

Concha has directed commercials in Sweden and USA for brands like Sony, IKEA and Betsson. He has directed music videos for artist such as American Grammy nominated Trey Songz][3]), Swedish Grammy winners The Sounds, Lazee, Grammy winner Leslie and double platinum selling artist Norlie & KKV. The music video Fumble (from the number one US album Chapter V) by Trey Songz officially premiered on BET’s 106 & Park as the new joint of the day in april 2013.[4] Manuel has an estimate total of 17 millions viewers worldwide on his music videos online.

The popular TV-series "Vilmas Blog"[5]) was directed by Manuel Concha for Swedish Television (SVT) and later he directed the hit series Starke man. Starke Man was nominated at Kristallen 2011, the Swedish version of the prestigious American Emmy awards, and 2012 for season 2 of Starke Man. Manuel Concha developed and directed the TV-series "Elsas Värld" based on the book of Sofi Fahrman "Elsas Mode". Together with Martin Larsson (Stormen) he wrote a TV-serie that is under development for the Swedish Television.

Manuel Concha is currently working on his second feature film. He was awarded the prestigious award Novellfilmssatsningen 2013 by SFI and SVT. The film will premiere on Gothenburg Filmfestival 2014.

The City of Malmö and the State of Skane have both awarded Manuel Concha with the Cultural Scholarship.

Manuel Concha is a member of the Writers Guild of Sweden and Directors Guild of Sweden.

Concha is married to actress Claudia Galli.
