Manston is a small village and civil parish in the county of Dorset in southern England. It is situated in the Blackmore Vale in the North Dorset administrative district, 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the town of Sturminster Newton. It is sited on Kimmeridge clay soil,[1] close to the River Stour. In the 2001 Census the village had a population of 135.
The artist Rodney Fryer Russell lived in the village.[citation needed]
