Manika (pronounced Ma-NEE-ka) is an Asian-Spanish American singer-songwriter and author.[1] She was discovered by Michael Jackson's long-time manager (music exec Frank DiLeo).[2] Manika recently toured with One Direction on their North American tour.[3] She also performed at the Hollywood Style Awards,[4] the nationally-televised Hallmark Hollywood Christmas Parade,[5] KISS FM’s Wango Tango,[6] the Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary Tour[7] and headlined Pepsi's Shop Til You Rock Tour.[8] Manika's debut album MANIKA (Double Album) includes 28 songs with 5 music videos and is now available worldwide.[9]

Manika's debut single "Just Can't Let You Go" played on radio stations internationally.[10] Both her first and her second single "Good Girls" broke top 40.[11] Manika's third single "My Way" is currently number 33 on the Billboard Top 40 Airplay chart.[12]

From an early age, Manika was interested in music, singing, songwriting and taught herself piano and guitar.[13] She was also very interested in book writing and helping others. At age 15 Manika wrote the children's book The Exciting Adventures of BOO and donated the proceeds to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and served as their teen spokesperson.[14] Manika also read her book to inner-city schoolchildren and young cancer patients. Her experiences with the underprivileged and unfortunate inspired one of her songs on her debut double-album. Manika is donating the proceeds from this song to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.[15]

Manika was 17 years old when her musical talents were discovered by Frank DiLeo (Michael Jackson's long-time manager).[16] Manika had won the outstanding performance award three years in a row at the National Performing Arts Festival in New York City when Frank DiLeo announced, "I am coming out of retirement to manage one last big act: Manika".[17] Manika then graduated high school a year early (as valedictorian) to pursue her music and writing career.[18]

Manika currently has four-and-a-half million fans on Facebook and Twitter.[19]
