Manhattan West is a 5,400,000-square-foot (500,000 m2) mixed-use development by Brookfield Properties which is in the planning stages. The project consists of two large office towers and two smaller residential towers. The towers will be built on a platform over the West Side Yard along Ninth Avenue. The buildings will be built close to the developing Hudson region between 31st and 33rd streets. These two buildings have been proposed as of 2010 and their approval is still pending. If built the west tower would extend 1,216 feet (371 m) and would be one of the tallest buildings in New York City.[3]
