Mangrove Capital Partners is an early stage investor specializing in incubation, seed and Series A rounds of financing. The firm regularly injects funds prior to product launch, aims at being the first institutional investor and sometimes co-creates projects. With more than $500 million under management, Mangrove also has the capacity to support its best companies over the long term, by committing significant resources through successive rounds of financing.

History

Mangrove Capital Partners is an international investment firm focused on launching and managing venture capital [1] vehicles.

The firm was founded in 2000 and is most famous for having been the first investor in Skype.[2]

Among its partners, the firm counts the former COO of Skype and the former Vice-Chairman of FC Barcelona.[3]

Mangrove is a Luxembourg based firm, registered in Luxembourg as a fund manager operating investment vehicles established as regulated investment companies subject to the authorization and ongoing supervision of the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).

Mangrove is the founder of the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA), which now has an active member base of 60 organizations, and currently serves as its President

Investments

Mangrove has invested in over 70 start-ups across the globe and has established venture capital firms such as Skype,Wix.com.,[4][5] KupiVIP, HFreedomPop, Brands4Friends,[6] and Spreets, OpenX, Nimbuzz, Walkme.
