Mangesh Hadawale (born 2 September 1980 in Maharashtra, India) is an Indian film director & writer. His first Marathi film Tingya (2008) was a huge hit. Dekh Indian Circus, his second film is Hindi has received many national & international accolades. Mangesh continues to split his time between films in Mumbai and farming at his native place.

Biography

Mangesh Hadawale was born in Rajuri village in Junnar, Maharashtra in a farmer family. After completing his schooling in Government Marathi School, Mangesh moved to Pune. In 2001 he completed degree in theater at the Center for Performing Arts, University of Pune also known as Lalit Kala Kendra. He immediately moved to Mumbai in pursuit of his passion in films and wrote his first filmscript 'Tingya'. It took him 5 years and 41 rejections to finally find a production house. Tingya went on to become a huge critical and commercial success.

After Tingya, Mangesh's next project in Hindi language Dekh Indian Circus is produced by Sundial Pictures. The film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Tannishtha Chatterjee got premiered at 16th Busan Film Festival and won the prestigious PSB/KNN Audience Award. Dekh Indian Circus has won many national & international awards and is due to release soon.

Mangesh made his foray into production with Tapaal, a Marathi film under production. The film is about a childless couple and a kid. It is written by Mangesh and directed by his close friend and cinematographer Laxman Utekar. Mangesh is working with a leading production house on his next directorial venture, an unannounced film in Hindi.

Mangesh enjoys being connected to his roots and has continued farming at his native place. He is also part of ventures called Hachiko Tourism and Parashar Agri-tourism in Junnar.
