Mangalsen is a town and headquarters of Achham District in the Seti Zone of western Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, the town had a population of 7185 living in 1404 houses.[1] At the time of the 2001 Nepal census, the population was 8901, of which 45% was literate.[1]
It had been the scene of fighting between Maoist rebels and government forces during the Civil War[2]
