Mangalam is a census town in Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.[citation needed]

Mangalam is located at 9°46′N 78°40′E / 9.77°N 78.67°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 32 metres (104 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Mangalam had a population of 7892. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Mangalam has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 59%. In Mangalam, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
