The Hotel

It wasn’t until 1990 that the Neo-Renaissance building was converted to a hotel, then purchased by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group 10 years later.[7] During one of the restoration projects, the building’s foundations were found to encompass part of the Medieval city wall, a section of which can still be seen in the hotel’s cellar.[8]
Mandarin Oriental, Munich, a 2011 selection for Conde Nast Traveler’s (USA) Gold List,[9] underwent a substantial renovation of its 48 guest rooms and 25 suites in 2007. Today, the hotel reflects contemporary style with elements of Asian design aesthetics.[10]
