Manchurian nationalism

Manchurian nationalism refers to the nationalism of Manchus are a nation and supports the cultural unity of Manchus.[1] Manchurian nationalism developed after the collapse of the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty of China.[1] With the collapse of the Qing Dynasty, the new Republic of China that idenitified the Han people as the main people of China while viewing Manchus as being of "barbarian" origin.[1] This attitude by the Chinese government resulted in upper-class Manchus organizing to support an independent Manchuria, the Manchus received the support of Japan who promoted Manchurian nationalism and supported the establishment of Manchukuo, a Japanese client state led by Puyi, the former emperor of the Qing Dynasty.[1] Manchurian nationalism never developed in strength as compared with other nationalisms in East Asia.[1]
