Manbij District

Manbij (Arabic: منبج Manbiǧ) is a Syrian district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Aleppo Governorate. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 408,143. Its administrative centre is the city of Manbij.

Divisions

The district of Manbij is divided into 5 sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):

  • Manbij nahiyah (ناحية منبج): population 202,976.[1]
  • Abu Qilqil nahiyah (ناحية أبو قلقل): population 47,109.[2]
  • Al-Khafsah nahiyah (ناحية خفسة): population 92,368.[3]
  • Maskanah nahiyah (ناحية مسكنة): population 64,829.[4]
  • Abu Kahf nahiyah (ناحية أبو كهف) (was part of the Manbij nahiyah until 2009).
