Malowal

Malowal (مالووال) is a very old village in Tehsil Gujrat, northeast Pakistan situated in union council Karianwala in Gujrat District.[1][2]

History

This village was established by a person, Malo, thus the village was named after him as Malowal (Place of Malo). His descendants settled here in Malowal.

After that, few other clans moved and settled there. Malowal's main clans are Gujjar (Bhumbla, Batkar, Padana, Paswal, Khatana and some others), Jat (Janjua, Warraich), Kashmiri and helping castes.

Malowal Village has both Girls' and Boys' Schools.[3]

Famous Haveli (حویلی)

A famous and historical Haveli owned by the renowned Jat (Janjua) family of the village, was built in 1939.

Haveli was constructed by the skilled workers, who had experience constructing royal buildings for Kings and Nawabs.
