Malaiyoor Mambattiyan is a 1983 Tamil-language Indian feature film directed by Rajasekhar, starring Thiagarajan, Saritha and Silk Smita. Later in 2011, Thiagarajan remade this movie with his son Prashanth, titled as Mambattiyan, this is first time in World Cinema father's (Thiagarajan) superhit movie was remade & directed & produced with the same actor's own son (Prashanth).

Plot

Malaiyoor Mambattiyan is the story of a group of youngsters in the village headed by Mambattiyan, who lead life in a forest by robbing the rich and distributing the wealth to the poor; thus Mambattiyan becomes the local Robin Hood.
