Makoto Tanaka (田中 誠, Tanaka Makoto, born August 8, 1975 in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka) is a Japanese football player, who finished his career playing for the J. League Division 2 team Avispa Fukuoka.[2]
He announced his retirement at the end of the 2011 season having played over 500 in his career.
He was called up for Japan's 2006 World Cup team, but had to withdraw after sustaining a thigh injury in the run-up to the tournament.[3]
